Course Description:
Welcome to the Manufacturing Processes micro-credential course! By successfully completing this course and earning the micro-credential, you will have demonstrated foundational knowledge of manufacturing materials and processes, knowledge of manufacturing methods (cutting, machining, forming, and additive) and how to select a material to effectively produce a component or assembly. Raw material characteristics are extremely important to consider when evaluating production solutions. During your career, you may need to specify materials or processes to realize component designs, or another designer or engineer may request a component be constructed in a manner that is not practical for the specified material – you will need to effectively communicate an alternative process or material to meet the design requirements.
