Description:
This course is an introduction to the design for manufacturing and assembly (DFMA) analysis process. Topics include an overview of the process, team selection, component and assembly analysis, and the resulting action items from the analysis. Emphasis is placed on the analysis of the components and assembly steps to highlight the importance of the group discussion. There are many variations to this process, but the concept of the process is the same: it is a critical analysis of a design with a focus on manufacturing and assembly.
